Privacy basics

Updated

This is the short version. The full text is in the privacy policy.

What stays on your device

Your recipes, photos, collections, notes, and cook log are stored on your device. They are never sold or shared. If you’re signed into iCloud they also sync through your own private iCloud, and Feastmark never sees them.

What leaves your device when you import

When you share a link to a recipe video or post, Feastmark sends that link to its recipe-extraction server so it can read the recipe. Only the link is sent. The server keeps an anonymous cache that maps a shared link to its recipe for up to 30 days. That cache has nothing about you or your device in it.

To read the recipe, the server may use outside services. The policy names them: OpenAI to parse recipe text, platform APIs like the YouTube Data API for video details, and a transcript service when the recipe is spoken. None of them receive personal information from Feastmark.

Photos

If you attach a photo to a recipe, Feastmark uses Apple’s system photo picker. It lets you choose an image without giving the app access to your whole photo library.
